Grail Lady Faire 2011 ~ A particle in a wave of global transformation!
While recently attending the “Grail Lady Faire for women who care about the planet”, hosted by founder Madeline Marentette, I was taken by her own sacred journey. Held at the Grail Springs Spa and Resort in Bancroft, Ontario Canada, this gathering suggested to Madeline “an Enlightened Woodstock for Women” celebrating a new earth consciousness. Her book, ‘Grail Springs, Holistic Detox for Body, Mind, & Spirit, give candid recollections that indicate a soulful coming of age in self-mastery and global community awareness. With her own globe trotting to many distinctive cultural and spiritual environs she joins thousands of way-showers around the world, often quietly transforming our future. Two fundamental philosophies vibrate through her vision: ‘Iche Diene’ is an ancient Grail code meaning ‘I serve’ and ‘Maat’ an ancient Egyptian text that translates as ‘Goddess of Truth and Justice.’ These concepts are considered to be as old as the Joseph of Arimathea, 6 a.c.e. In essence, for Madeline, “to be good, to be true, and to be happy,” is to uphold the highest ideals of the Round Table. Humbling as always, I find myself amidst an eclectic entourage of powerful and inspiring women from across the United States, Canada, Peru, United Kingdom, Brazil and more. Blessed to be a particle in a wave of transformation in this International Women’s Year 2011; it is a call for conscious humanitarianism and environmentalism. Madeline, like so many globally are actively bringing together notable thought leaders, authors, wisdom keepers, musicians, recording artists, living spiritual and healing masters, alternative business entrepreneurs and visionaries.
Nestled amongst the Cambrian landscape on the shoreline of Chalice Lake Ontario, a lone swimmer dips under a sparkling surface lake water. Ancient Granite deposits of magnetite, marble, granite, solidities and quartz crystal underground, draw many from around the globe to the Bancroft area. Fine gems and minerals emanate magnetic charges reputed for powerful healing capabilities.
Dragonflies flutter and dance around a lone woman who is immersed within the Labyrinth, while a small group of women lounge on a birch tree shoreline wondering if the mud massage is sans clothing. Warm summer breezes send goose bumps on one pregnant woman’s arms as her robe is pulled in tightly. Two women meander through the hot tub garden area amidst tingling wind chime and lush garden. One woman comments of luscious fresh odours in the air intermingling lake water, flowers and a vegan lunch in preparation. A calming ensues from city strife as the day progresses. Overheard is another wondering if the good feeling is atmosphere is because of the fresh crystalline waters flowing nutrients and minerals from deep in the earth and thus infusing a heightened sense of aliveness and conductivity throughout the Grail Faire. While another openly ponders ancestral ghostly interventions, who must have come to assist the higher vision inspired by legends of the Holy Grail. Another feminine sisterhood evolves under the tutelage of a variety of renowned guest speakers.
“To know thyself, to trust thyself and to love thyself” was this years theme. One can sense and visualize a multitude of ancestral women, saints and sages also gathering in the spirit of the vision. Women gather, dispensing with the traditional female competitive daily grind in search of nature’s natural healing ambiance, soul connection and sisterhood. This is more than a fad, search for authentic soul connection and connection to the divine and camaraderie with like mind and soul is growing into commonality in today’s culture. The five day summer event, intent on growth and celebration with like minded souls from all walks of life.

Tending to the higher spiritual well being of the events and holding higher vision, is none other than the Condor’s Vera Lopez who among many things, plans, organize and leads spiritual journeys to Peru, Brazil and Sedona Arisona, is the founder of the 'Spirits of the Earth' a spiritual adventure travel company, a Reiki Master, Spiritual Counselor and Modern Shaman Practitioner. Spiritual Master John of God awaits on deck to move souls into light and well being.
Among a wide variety of notable guest speakers is the regions own gracious Eva Dametto offering her unique and powerful talents of 'Breathe True Yoga'.
Mystical Wilderness serenity naturally dissipates the hectic daily lives of those attending. Felt at the Grail Faire is the growing trend toward a non-secular connection with nature spirituality and each other, a sort of pane theism which strives toward a oneness concept where God or a divine creative force not only exists but is within and interconnects with every aspect of nature and beyond. All guided and operated under a series of universal laws. A simple yet intricate concept of interconnectedness that all of our ancestors understood and lived within. A universal belief where humans and other animated and non-animated life forms are simply individuated while at one connected with the all that is.
The common symbolism in many aboriginal cultures that demonstrates this notion is the spiral, found in the sacred dance of the Grouse, the curves of the nautilus shell and more cosmically in the spiral arms of galaxies. Spiral imagery reflects evolution of the soul and spirits progression and personal mastery within the mass conscious mind and the all that is. The Grail Lady Faire Festival is among many modern movements is a wave of evolution upon us that is growing.
“If there is to be a future, it will wear the crown of feminine design.” ~ Indian Mystic Aurobindo
Ancestral interconnectedness vibrates from hand made drums as sisterhoods find nature, bringing the magic of discovering a natural authentic unfolding of the wondrousness of who they really are. In accepting and honouring self and others, like mind and soul inevitably attracts like mind and soul, exponentially bringing more joy and discovery.
In part and parcel with this progression of authentic and interconnectedness is a growing trend of altruistic business philosophy. Out with the old competitive and hoarding mentality, more and more are seeking the accompanying philosophies and practices such as; Café Gratitude. Madeline makes reference in her book to the Round Table unanimous decision making practice where all options are discussed explored. The Round Table philosophy alludes to a pre-concept of approaching all affairs and aspects of life with a pure mind and heart in alignment with a higher vision at all times.
Café Gratitude is more than a business practice; it is a school of transformative sacred commerce whose philosophies hint at basic wholeness approach to business, staff, partners etc. A positive fundamental vision is practiced in effort to help one another in all facets of life; financially, personal growth, occasionally addiction recovery, healing from disease to car repairs or even replacing stolen items. They strive to support one another’s artistic performances, housing, and transportation needs. In harnessing the power of community, caring for each other, they come to know the reciprocity of support while working in an environment where, the innate value of each is honoured and respected.
