I do believe that there should be rules of drive through etiquette posted at all drive through coffee shops. I shall hereby and forthwith decree, the following rules for posting at all the franchise outlets, for a small fee of course:
Number one; if you do not know what you want before you drive up to the speaker, park and go in. The women waiting on you and the people behind you do not want to wait while you explore the menu.
Number two; you are not allowed to itemize forty-five individual flavours of a party package of donuts. Either order them mixed or all of one flavour. Long line-ups are the curse of others who only want one item and are in a hurry. Park and go in for extensive lists.
Number three; If you are the driver of a vehicle full of children or otherwise generally fussy car guests, use your fine dining hostess etiquette and carte blanche choose and order for them. Because, you see the women inside cannot handle lists beyond three items, they will get it wrong, so park and go in anyway.
Number four; it is quite all right to tell the cashier at the window that the guy behind is your husband and that he is paying for yours.”
